Tantangan Mengelola Career Center di Tengah Keterbatasan

Mengelola layanan karier kampus bukan hal mudah, apalagi jika harus dilakukan nyaris sendirian. Itulah yang sempat dirasakan oleh Dr. Arniwita, Sy, S.Pd, MM, CBAS—dosen Manajemen sekaligus Kepala Career Center Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi. Dalam situasi serba terbatas, ia berbagi kisah dan pengalamannya menggunakan platform karier SeeMeSOL yang kemudian membuka jalan baru bagi unit yang sempat ia ragukan untuk terus berjalan.

Awalnya, ia harus menghadapi kenyataan bahwa staf yang selama ini membantunya telah pindah tugas ke luar provinsi. Dengan tanggung jawab yang masih banyak di luar kampus—termasuk sebagai Staf Ahli Pemerintah Daerah, pengurus berbagai organisasi, serta pelaku UMKM—waktu dan tenaga yang tersedia untuk Career Center pun semakin terbatas. 

Padahal, berbagai masalah masih harus dihadapi: alumni enggan mengisi tracer study, informasi lowongan kerja hanya disebar via grup chat dan media sosial tanpa verifikasi, dan tidak ada sistem yang bisa mengelola data alumni secara menyeluruh.

“Saya sempat pesimis, apakah unit ini masih bisa bertahan,” ujar Dr. Arniwita.

SeeMeSOL Hadir dengan Dukungan dan Solusi yang Relevan

Titik terang mulai muncul saat tim SeeMeSOL hadir dan memperkenalkan portal karier digital. Bukan hanya sekadar platform, SeeMeSOL datang dengan pendekatan yang penuh pendampingan, memahami situasi kampus daerah seperti UM Jambi dengan segala dinamikanya. Dr. Arniwita merasakan sendiri bagaimana dukungan personal dari tim—terutama dari Pak Kenny—menjadi penopang yang sangat berarti di tengah keterbatasan.

Ia pun membentuk tim kecil berisi mahasiswa magang yang ia beri nama Crew SeeMeCV UM Jambi. Bersama mereka, ia mulai melakukan sosialisasi aktif: membagikan leaflet, mengadakan presentasi di event kampus, dan mendampingi langsung mahasiswa serta alumni untuk mengenal fitur-fitur portal ini.

Lambat laun, perubahan mulai terasa. Mahasiswa dan alumni menjadi lebih antusias mengikuti kegiatan karier. Informasi lowongan kerja bisa dikelola dengan lebih baik, lengkap dengan kredibilitas yang sebelumnya sulit dipastikan. Bahkan hubungan dengan perusahaan pun mulai terjalin lebih profesional. Data alumni pun kini tersimpan lebih rapi dan bisa dimanfaatkan untuk pelaporan dan pengembangan program.

Menuju Layanan Karier yang Lebih Terstruktur dan Terpercaya

Dr. Arniwita mengakui, peran SeeMeSOL bukan hanya dari sisi teknologinya, tapi juga dari sikap timnya yang responsif, sabar, dan tidak menggurui. Pelatihan diberikan dengan bahasa yang mudah dipahami, dan selalu disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan kampusnya.

Ia berharap ke depan platform ini terus berkembang, terutama dalam hal fitur pelaporan yang lebih kaya agar analisis data karier bisa dilakukan dengan lebih komprehensif. Tapi sejauh ini, menurutnya, SeeMeSOL sudah sangat membantu membuka lembaran baru dalam layanan karier di UM Jambi—bukan dengan cara yang instan, tapi melalui kolaborasi yang sabar dan saling memahami.

“SeeMeCV (sekarang SeeMeSOL) hadir di saat kami sedang mencari pegangan, dan berhasil membantu kami bangkit kembali. Dukungan yang kami terima bukan hanya teknis, tapi juga emosional. Kami tidak merasa bekerja sendiri.”

Navigating Career Services with Limited Resources

Running a university career center is rarely simple—especially when you’re doing it mostly alone. That was the reality faced by Dr. Arniwita, Sy, S.Pd, MM, CBAS, a Management lecturer and Head of the Career Center at Universitas Muhammadiyah Jambi (UM Jambi). In a moment of honest reflection, she shared her story and experience using the SeeMeSOL career platform, which later became a turning point for her unit.

When her staff member left for a job opportunity outside the province, she was left to manage everything on her own. Balancing this with her many other commitments—including roles as a regional advisor, organizational leader, and SME mentor—meant her time and energy were stretched to the limit. Meanwhile, the career center was facing challenges: low alumni response to tracer studies, job postings that lacked verification and were only shared via WhatsApp or social media, and no centralized system to manage alumni data.

“I was honestly starting to feel hopeless about the future of the unit,” she admitted.

How SeeMeSol Offered Support, Structure, and a Fresh Start

Things began to shift when the SeeMeSOL team introduced their career platform. But more than just a digital tool, they offered personalized support and patience—understanding the unique realities of a regional campus like UM Jambi. Dr. Arniwita recalled how the guidance from Mr. Kenny in particular became a source of strength during that difficult transition.

She gathered a small team of student interns, which she named Crew SeeMeCV UM Jambi, and together they began promoting the platform actively. This wasn’t just about sending out links—they handed out flyers, gave presentations at campus events, and offered direct support to students and alumni.

Gradually, progress took root. Student and alumni participation in career activities improved. Job postings became more trustworthy and easier to manage. The university started forming more structured relationships with companies, and alumni data was now well-organized and ready for reporting.

Building a More Reliable and Inclusive Career Ecosystem

Dr. Arniwita emphasized that the value of SeeMeSOL wasn’t just in its technology, but in the human approach of its team. They were responsive, down-to-earth, and never condescending. Training was delivered in simple, clear language and adapted to the university’s needs.

Looking ahead, she hopes the platform continues to evolve—particularly in enhancing data reporting features to support deeper career insights. But for now, she considers SeeMeSol a much-needed partner that helped restore optimism, not through shortcuts, but through shared effort and mutual understanding.
